Graph: Nike Quarterly Sales Growth 2012 to 2017.

“Good afternoon everyone and welcome to my presentation of Nike’s Quarterly Sales Growth from 2012 to 2017.

As you can see revenue growth plummeted from a high of 22.5% to 7.25% from 2012 Q1 to 2012 Q3. It then plateaued around 7.5% from 2012 Q2 until 2013 Q4.

In 2014 Q1 revenues shot up to 12.5% and despite a small fall continued rising to a high of 14% by 2014 Q4.

However 2015 was a turbulent year and revenues dipped suddenly from 14% to 5% and reached a low of 4.5% in 2015 Q4.

In 2016 Q1 revenues rebounded to 7.5% and then for the rest of the year fluctuated between 7.5% and 6.5%.

So what were the main reasons for slower revenue growth in 2015 and 2016? This was due to a mix of soft (low) demand in the industry and a flood of competitive products. Thank you”.
